A Journey into History: My Visit to Baramotichi Vihir Satara

Journey into History Baramotichi Vihir

I had been quite a while since I last on a trip, so my friends and I decided to visit Limb, as it is historical place. I truly enjoy exploring historical places, which is why we finalized our plan to o there.

Limb village is located about 2 kilometers form Satara, and 3 kilometers from Limb Phata. Around 2 kilometers south of the village, at a place called Sherichi Wadi, near the Krishna River, lies the magnificent Baramotechi Vihir (Twelve - Door Stepwell).

The village of limb is also home to a mango orchard with around 300 tress. The stepwell was originally constructed to serve the people living in the village and the orchard.

Historically, the stepwell dates back to the reign of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. I love collecting information about historical places, so I visited the site and learned about the fascinating history of Baramotechi Vihir.

Baramotechi Vihir

The well is massive is size, and its history  is just as deep and grand. The design of every sculpture and the intricate cravings on the stone pillars in the palace-like structure reflect exceptional architectural planning and symbolism.

Interestingly, many Hindi and Marathi movies have been shot here. Recently, a new historical film titled "Chhava", based on Chhatrapati Smabhaji Maharaj, was partially filmed at this very location.

So I visited this amazing historical place - you must visit it too!
